Pesticide Applications Near Schools and Child Care Facilities

Effective January 1, 2026, California has adopted regulations setting minimum buffer distances for certain agricultural pesticide applications near public K-12 schools and licensed child day care centers, collectively called “schoolsites.” These rules also require annual notifications to schoolsites located within ¼ mile of agricultural fields where pesticide applications occur.
